I have been a private practitioner of gastroenterology in a group for 27 years, and recently sold the practice to our local community hospital in Yuma, Arizona. I perform advanced GI procedures at the Hospital. I have a special interest in biliary endoscopic procedures (ERCP). In addition to the regular GI endoscopies like EGD with control of bleeding from upper gastrointestinal tract ulcers, esophageal variceal bleeding, dilation of strictures of upper GI tract as well colonic strictures, colonoscopy with polypectomies, control of lower GI bleeds with endoclips, argon plasma coagulation and injection therapy, and tattoo marking of large lesions to help surgeons easily identify them during surgery etc. I am comfortable in managing benign and malignant biliary strictures, postoperative biliary leaks, placement of plastic as well as biliary wall stents. I also do transpupillary choledochectomy (spy glass) procedures in the management of large biliary stones, electrohydraulic lithotripsy, obtain biopsies of biliary strictures, and manage esophageal cancer which might benefit from wall stents. I can also do endoscopic mucosal resection of the GI lesions. I am Board Certified in Gastroenterology by ABIM in 1995 and recertified in 2005 and again in 2015. I am also Board Certified in Internal Medicine by ABIM in 1993 and recertified in 2002 and again in 2013. I don’t practice Internal Medicine but want to keep myself up to date in Internal Medicine too. No Malpractice incidents in the last 25 years. After managing a busy group practice with some 70 employees, now I want to spend my time doing only my main interest of GI, while also continuing my other hobbies. I am 62 years old and keep myself active with running and strength training. I have a great interest in running marathons. I have run 35 marathons, qualified for the Boston Marathon for 2021 and ran it in 3 hours 36 minutes at an average of 8 minutes 15 seconds per mile. I did my personal best time of 3 hours 38 minutes at Phoenix/Mesa Marathon in 2020 to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I also love home gardening, and we grow organic vegetables. Travel around the world with my family. I have 2 daughters and a son. All of them have completed graduate degrees and are working. We have 2 twin sweet 3-year-old granddaughters from my oldest daughter.
